Jessica Calloway Canty
Jessica Calloway Canty is a native
of Charleston, West
Virginia and now resides in Newport
News, Virginia. She is an active member at First Baptist
Church East End, where Rev. Dr. William J. Marshall is the pastor. She studied
Business Management and Accounting at West Virginia State College in Institute,
WV. Her goal is to complete her under graduate studies by June 2007 at Regent University
with a BS in Organizational Leadership and Management; and to further her
education to receive a Masters in Divinity.
Before
relocating to Virginia, she attended Ferguson Memorial Baptist
Church under the
pastorship of Rev. E. A. Heyliger. As a member of Ferguson,
she was the Assistant Financial Secretary, Director of the Youth Usher
Ministry; Mentor
of the Teen Ministry, Coordinator of Teens Stepping for Christ, Sunday School
Teacher and visionary and founder of “Youth Walking For Christ.”
While
in Virginia, Evangelist Canty has had the honor and privilege to work in
different capacities of the church community such as Church Administrator with
a membership of about 1500, Administrative Assistant Membership &
Leadership, Assistant Director of Sunday School, Assistant Teacher Adult Sunday
School, Co-Coordinator New Converts, Co-Coordinator of Women’s Ministry,
Conference Coordinator, Counselor of Counseling Ministry, Director of Vacation
Bible School, Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Leadership Trainer, Member of
Executive Council, Ministerial Staff Administrator, New Members Ministry,
Praise & Worship Ministry, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School
Teacher’s Trainer, Adult Praise Dance Ministry, Assistant Teacher of Tuesday
& Wednesday Bible Study, Marriage Ministry, Conflict Advisor for Ministry
Leaders and Spiritual Advisor of various ministries. She has volunteered her time, talents and
gifts to a Shelter for Abused and Transitioning Women, Heritage High School
Booster Club. Currently she is volunteering for the Hampton-Newport News
Community Service Board (HNNSB) Mentoring Program as an events coordinator and
motivational speaker; a monthly reader at various Newport News Public Schools
and a mentor for the Project Self-Esteem Program at Willard Elementary School
in Norfolk, VA.
Her
passion for people has inspired her to pursue the area of evangelizing, seeking
the lost and broken and encouraging believers to “press toward the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Canty is the wife of Bryan
and mother of son Se’Dale.
